Wouldn’t you love to have all those great looking tournament plaques you see on display at your school or on your own shelves? Now you can!. Just pick the number of trophies you want and then sign up for that many competitions! So, we got a little ahead of ourselves because you might be asking yourself. How do you get there? To answer this question only takes one word: sparring. You cannot walk on the tourney mat without a great deal of sparring under your belt and hope to walk away with a trophy or medal. You need experience and skill and that is why sparring training is a must. Or, more accurately, proper sparring is a must.

Most MMA videos provided in an official context are meant for didactic applications or part of training. For mixed martial arts fans who don’t have the possibility of full contact training, MMA videos play the teaching role. Although the quality of the learning process is undoubtedly lower, we should not minimize the efficiency of such materials. The striking and grappling tactics, the stand up and ground game can be approached differently by separate MMA videos. The whole idea is to get some especially designed programs in which all techniques and moves are explained. Learning tactics from MMA videos available on YouTube is lame.

For many athletes, sparring will always be the most exciting element of martial arts. The martial arts are a system of codified practices and traditions, developed and used for training for combat. Martial arts exhibitions and tournaments are often held to judge the participants’ levels of skill in particular contexts.
There are two types of martial arts sparring: the light or medium contact and the full contact sparring. Both of these forms, however, are used in training and competitions with a clear set of common rules.
