There is no better way to protect yourself than by educating yourself in self-defense. It doesn’t have to involve learning advanced techniques or require months out of your life either. But a little personal security training will go a long way in helping to ensure your own safety.
You want to be prepared for a potential robbing, mugging or attack – no matter how slim the chances may be. And while most people can sense what sorts of situations and places to avoid, sometimes it is not possible to avoid a threatening situation. In times like these, you want to be prepared!

Everyone should have a basic knowledge of how to protect themselves when a threatening situation arises. Life is always uncertain and while you should not waste time worrying about what might happen, it is a good idea to be prepared. The possibility of being robbed, mugged or abducted always exists and you should develop a plan of action in case a threatening situation ever occurs.
Ensuring your personal security involves several small steps. Don’t wait to become a victim – research self-defense courses, or invest in pepper spray, a personal alarm or even a stun gun.

If you’ve ever thought you might need a small, easy to conceal self-defense weapon, you’re not alone. Pepper spray is one good option, of course, but if someone’s out to hurt you, the criminal may be expecting pepper spray, and therefore can defend against it.
Instead, look for something that has a little bit more power to it, and is legal besides — at least in most states. You can carry it as a keychain, and this small weapon is always at the ready. Simply carry it with you to have it within reach at a moment’s notice, ready to come to your defense in the event you find that you need to protect yourself.
