As soon as you chose to be associated with mma, you split your self from the standard athletes that do not want to go the extra mile with his or her workout. Wing chun kung fu is a close contact dynamic fighting style, what that means is that to be most effect most of the time you are in close and fists are flying everywhere.. This can be a pretty daunting for the beginner as they learn their craft and develop a feel for the system.. The problem is. When you are learning you are with a static pattern. One of the first kung fu techniques you learn is to defines a punch. Where the opponents jabs at you and hold their hand out very slowly. You react using the technique that was taught with the opponent standing there statically taking a virtual beating.- Which for a beginner is a very valid technique and crucial to build confidence.

According to the latest UFC news, Abu Dhabi is going to be the hotspot in April for MMA as lightweight contender Frankie Edgar takes on BJ Penn for what’s been described as the biggest fight of Edgar’s life. You can be certain that both physical and mental conditioning is included in Penn and Edgar’s bout preparation.
While many training programs focus on preparing the body to fight, a key component of any serious mixed martial arts training covers the mental aspect of fighting. A fighter may be trained to the peak of physical condition, but if he can’t deal with the mental aspects of pain, if he lets his opponent “psych” him out, or if he fails to see “tells” in his opponents’ moves, all that physical conditioning will have been for nothing.
