According to the latest UFC news, Abu Dhabi is going to be the hotspot in April for MMA as lightweight contender Frankie Edgar takes on BJ Penn for what’s been described as the biggest fight of Edgar’s life. You can be certain that both physical and mental conditioning is included in Penn and Edgar’s bout preparation.
While many training programs focus on preparing the body to fight, a key component of any serious mixed martial arts training covers the mental aspect of fighting. A fighter may be trained to the peak of physical condition, but if he can’t deal with the mental aspects of pain, if he lets his opponent “psych” him out, or if he fails to see “tells” in his opponents’ moves, all that physical conditioning will have been for nothing.

If you check out the latest MMA blogs, you’ll see an increasing number of people talking about the importance of a good mental training program.
There is a lot to said about the mental aspects of mixed martial arts, despite it being one of the most physical sports in the world today.
If physical skill alone were the only component of fighting, champions like Royce Gracie would never have ascended to the heights in the sport of fighting. Grace, although much smaller, was smarter than many of his opponents, learned to understand how important it was to combine mental training with physical conditioning.
Include Mental Conditioning In Your Program

Judo uniforms are created of a heavy canvas-like material. This is important as many judo moves involve grabbing and pulling on the judo jacket of the opponent. Judo uniforms are additional than simply an outfit to wear. They are symbols of a learning process, also a spiritual journey which a student is currently traveling. Judo uniforms are generally created out of a hundred% cotton, bleached white. Cotton is the most effective alternative for breathability.

Ah, the age old problem. Fighting techniques are trained year round by millions of people. You would use fighting techniques like MMA and boxing for competition sport. The question is can these techniques be used properly for self defense as well? Let’s see what we can find out when we look at that exact question.
First, we’ll look at some of the more common fighting techniques. The common jab is the first technique. We now have two staple techniques, because the jab is usually followed up by a cross punch. Another common technique used in fighting is the round house kick. These devastating kicks can temporarily cripple your opponent when delivered properly. These are the three staple fighting techniques we will discuss.

Muay Thai is from Indochina and it is a popular form of martial arts. Over the years, it has become very popular in the South Pacific. Today, modern Muay Thai is typically a ring sport where gloves that are similar to boxing gloves are used. Muay Thai is a common part of mixed martial arts training as well and many MMA trainers now use Muay Thai bags in their facilities.
The primary idea behind Muay Thai is that there are not two, not four but eight different places on the body that can be used to attack the opponent. Four of these spots are nothing more than a collection of savage hits below the elbow and knee, but four other spots account for the hands and the feet.
