wing chun dummy
Here are a few reasons why I thing Wing Chun training Rocks,,
Entries… What the…. Well entries are what is called bridging the gap between you and your opposition. In layman’s terms (or my terms) it is entering the exchange with your opponents while causing maximum damage and minimal harm to your self. What is the best way to break through your opponents defences so you can attack. In your wing chun training you will come up with a number of techniques to do this. Preferably without walking into a punch or a kick. You want to deflect the attacks and and effect your own. I cannot emphasise the importance of this techniques in your training. In class you have a static partner and your moves are choreograohed. Training in these entries demands a more dynamic a realistic approach almost to the point of sparring where it can get truly random. These techniques gave me a great confidence in wing chun and my abilities. This also assist with practice on the wing chun Dummy.

Training principles are constantly improved upon in our fast paced world. Speed and agility training has benefited a lot from this trend. People throw aroung the word incredible quite a lot when first hearing about this. Individuals who go against the common wisdom have to be thanked here. The NFL Combine is a camp in which professional football teams assess NFL draft candidates – this training is the “where it’s at” there. Sports Vision training. It deals with your speed of reaction, your ability to process information on the court, tempo or timing and even goes into things such as depth perception. The training comes from the premise that athletes react to what they can see. An athlete must be able to see, react and anticipate the next move of the opponent, the better and faster he or she can do that, the better the athlete will be.
Reacting inappropriatly is a lot of times due to a lack of this sort of training. An athlete doing conventional speed and agility training needs to also be trained for speed exercises of the mind as well, or speed and span of recognition training. This includes even the fastest players. Times have changed and the atletes who don’t improve these previously untrainable characteristics will be left sitting on the bench.
