The foot is often overlooked as a useful method of defending yourself, but it’s actually your best ‘weapon’. The foot has several solid parts that allow it to be used during self defense without fear of causing any damage to it. Whereas punching, particularly to certain portions of another persons body, can cause serious harm and even breakage.
The best part of your foot to use with self defense is the heel. The heel is basically just solid bone and this makes it less susceptible to damage or harm. Kicking with your toes is not advisable when using basic self defense techniques as there are several small bones that comprise those portions of your foot, and a poor kick could result in you breaking or fracturing them.

I’ve been asked by many individuals because I am a fan of martial arts, which one is deadliest. They expect me to give them a simple answer, you know, tell them they can go and learn it, and then they’ll be death master ninja gurus. Truth is, there is no such thing as the deadliest type of martial arts If your interest is finding the deadliest style of martial arts, I hate to give you the bad news, but your efforts will be unsuccessful. Honestly, the deadliest style of martial arts is the one that you can use with easy, would be my opinion to answer that question. Anything that is complicated in real life it cannot be summed to your arsenal of self defense techniques because it requires too many different variables for to be effective or deadly, even if it seems so.

For years and years, self defense training was looked at as a simple affair you could only learn in a dojo. Normally, a constricted respone would be performed because the students would just be punching each other lazily. However, recently created is a new form of self-defense training. This new form of self defense brings in a form of training that prepares students for the street while getting rid of the old boring traditions.
This is simple. Rather than sticking with the old martial arts horse stance style of self defense training, these new students go all out with their training. They realized that real life self defense situations aren’t really like one student calming attacking another. In the real world, attacks are violent, random, and difficult to defend against. In order to account for this, the students wear normal street clothes. They yell, scream, and violently attack the other students in order to truly master self defense.
This kind of self-defense training can greatly increase the practical aspect of your practice when done properly. The reason is that this type of training most importantyly prepares your mind for the crazy rush of a real fight and teaches you to think on your feet and react quickly. Compared to the old style, this style is simply much much better. As you see yourself getting better at practicing self defense, your skill will increase rapidly.
Be sure you try to find a school teaching this newer style of self defense training. Now there’s just the hardcore realistic practice that can be immediately applied to the street without all the uniforms and fancy techniques. This new type of self defense training is really the only style worth training because it’s that good. It simply blows everything else away.

Ah, the age old problem. Fighting techniques are trained year round by millions of people. You would use fighting techniques like MMA and boxing for competition sport. The question is can these techniques be used properly for self defense as well? Let’s see what we can find out when we look at that exact question.
First, we’ll look at some of the more common fighting techniques. The common jab is the first technique. We now have two staple techniques, because the jab is usually followed up by a cross punch. Another common technique used in fighting is the round house kick. These devastating kicks can temporarily cripple your opponent when delivered properly. These are the three staple fighting techniques we will discuss.
