So you’ve decided you want to do a martial art, but don’t know which one to do, lets face it, there are loads to choose from, providing you are lucky enough to live in the right area.
Not something I really had when I was growing up unfortunately, however there does seem to have been a growth in clubs in recent years, and also in styles followed. All that was really known about to any degree was Karate and Judo during the time I was growing up, and all I had in my area was karate and it wasn’t for me, but then how do you know if it is or isn’t for you?

foreclosures Tai Chi Chi Kung / Qi Gong by definition refers to energy work. In this post I will try to shed some light on what is meant by the energy work aspect of the practice.
Qi Gong is often taught as a set of moves separate from the Tai Chi sets. I have found that the vast majority of the time these other moves do not come with much of an explanation of why and how they are any different from the Tai Chi in the sets and that the moves by themselves do not impart any kind of ability different than what is already available in the Tai Chi sets.

No discussion of the martial arts can be complete until it finds time to discuss how martial arts can help deal with stress. In today’s hectic world, the reduction of stress is one value upon which just about everyone can agree. If we can somehow make our life less stressful overall, then we would have achieved something major. Martial arts can do this for us.
Doctors have known for many years now that physical exercise is one of the best ways to deal with stress. The more you work, the more you use your body, the more your brain releases powerful neurotransmitters in response to attempt to engage your parasympathetic nervous system and relax your body. After a good workout, you can feel the stress just melt away.

Throughout the world, Chinese martial arts are famous and well respectable. China is a pioneer to martial arts, founding several excellent styles. Although Kung Fu is the most well known Chinese martial art, the’re others that are simply as good. Below, we will consider a few of the other Chinese martial arts that aren’t as well known as Kung Fu.
HSING-I
This is actually a one of the internal styles of Kung Fu, closely in connection with Tai Chi. It teaches students to subordinate their bodies, creating powerful movements with a very few expense of energy. HSING-I isn’t well known about, although it is very powerful and recognized throughout China. The US and other areas aren’t that conversant in it, with little to no schools or dojo’s out there that teach it.
