It’s no secret that martial arts has indeed come a long way over the years. A number of years ago, Bruce Lee helped the arts become even more famous, when he developed his style of Jeet Kune Do. He participated in several movies, showing the world his speed and finesse. Since then, movies have been a favorite way to showcase martial arts skills.
Back in the early 1990s, something referred to as the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) came along to take things a step further. Even supposing there have been other competitions similar to the UFC, none of them had the flair and the dedication as UFC did. When it first began, the UFC paired different styles and different weight classes.

Cage fighting is another name for UFC or the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The cage is an octagonal portion with metal chain-link fences instead of walls in which the fighters meet for combat. This central area is four feet higher than the ground level for improved visibility during the matches. The very name of cage fighting sounds savage, barbaric and really violent, but these epithets best describe this sport in its emerging stages. Cage fighting presently bears the name of mixed martial arts, a full contact combat sport that combines various forms of martial arts mainly relying on striking and grappling techniques.
